Personal Narrative: My new apartment building.

Last weekend a frenzy of people carrying boxes and lifting furniture flocked to an apartment building known as Milepost5. The move-in date for this place has been long awaiting by many of the new tenants, having had the move-in date changed twice already. The building was very busy that day, and most people were settled in by that evening. But story has less to do with the actual building itself, and more to do with the people moving into it, and their reaction to their new living space. Not to make this establishment look unorganized, but to reflect on how excited people were to have the opportunity to come here. And how excited they are for improvements to come, and how this community of people will aid in the progress.

  2. I really like the slide show to show off your photos, that makes it eaiser to view them. You are not distracted by all of the other photos and are able to focus on just one at a time.

I hope you explore milepost 5 more with your essay’s in the future (you are right? I can’t believe I can’t remember what your project is on, my bad).

You blog looks really good too so far. The layout is simple and not distracting.

    Great job,

Score! I am your first comment, well to get the ball rolling here I love this concept/story! Without knowing the building or the people I can tell from your photos that this is a place with a lot of character and artistic influence! Now from being in this building I know there is so much more great stuff for you to capture that will add to your story. I am excited to see the end result of this project, can’t wait to see more!

I really enjoyed this piece. I wish there was more though…meaning…when you showed this work, I wanted to see EVERYTHING! You did such a great job telling about your building that I just wanted to see every single inch of the building! I cannot wait to see more of this! I am actually really looking forward to it! You just gave us a teaser of whats to come!! 🙂
